Difference between white label and private label?
You may not yet be clear where white label ends and private label begins, and that's no wonder, because the two terms are often mixed up, interchanged, or even defined differently from provider to provider. For this reason, we will give you a short overview in this report, especially with regard to our definition of the two topics.
Branding, but only branding!
White label products are basically market-ready product formulas, which in the best case are in stock at your supplier and are just waiting to be personalized by you. So you skip all development processes and start directly with the design of your packaging layout. As a rule, the packaging types are also standardized and you have certain restrictions in the design of the packaging. In return, you have the advantage of purchasing these products at enormously low minimum quantities, since you are not the only customer and the contract manufacturer can scale so well.
Our example: Whey Protein Concentrate
We offer you the possibility to purchase this product in a modern cylindrical HDPE can already from a MOQ of only 20 cans per flavor, but your design options are limited exclusively to the label, the choice of another can, bag, sachet or box is not given.
Individual - Customized - Private Labeling
However, if you have the desire to bring a unique product to the market, for example through a specially created flavor, a special combination of active ingredients or special packaging, you are clearly in private labeling.
Back to the case study
You can of course also purchase a completely unique Whey Protein Concentrate from us, where you alone decide on the composition, the taste and the entire packaging design ( of course with our support). In this case, your journey begins with the development of your own product formula for which we estimate a minimum purchase of at least 100kg.
Bottom line!
White Label products are (at least with us) Ready to Sell, are in stock and can be realized in a few days from a minimum MOQ of only 20 units. Private Label products are individual solutions with maximum design possibilities, but need on average between 2 and 6 weeks for development and realization and a MOQ of at least 100kg.
